Voters Approve Governor’s Tax Measure

Legislative Democrats Secure Supermajority Authority

Gov. Jerry Brown held a press conference this morning to discuss election results, in particular the passage of his tax measure, Proposition 30.

71 Percent of Local Revenue Measures Approved

Of the 240 local tax and bond measures on yesterday’s ballot in California, 171 appear to have passed including 85 out of 106 school bonds and 52 out of 66 general taxes. League Fiscal Policy Advisor Michael Coleman’s full report has been posted online at http://www.californiacityfinance.com/Votes1211prelim.pdf.
