The Legislature is also focused on the FY 2017-18 budget, which must be sent to Gov. Jerry Brown by June 15. The League continues to track numerous bills affecting cities. Some hearings, if not all, will be televised. The Senate and Assembly publish weekly television schedules, but audio is always available online. In addition, many hearings are also webcast via the California Channel.Legislation, Meetings and Events, Legislative Hearings Submit Your Session Proposals for the 2018 Public Works Officers Institute & ExpoJuly 28 is the DeadlineThe League is soliciting session proposals for the 2018 Public Works Officers Institute & Expo. Geared towards city and county public works directors, assistant directors, engineers and staff, the event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Monterey, March 28 – 30. Session proposals are due by July 28. Meetings and Events, Public Works League-Sponsored Bond Agency Issues $25 Million in Tax-Exempt Bonds for Ivy Hill Apartments in Walnut CreekSome of the most significant benefits of League membership for cities since 1988 have flowed from the League’s co-sponsorship of the California Statewide Communities Development Authority (CSCDA).This program provides a variety of public agencies and developers access to low-cost, tax-exempt financing and economic development tools.
