Wednesday was busy for many members of the League of California Cities with the organization’s annual Legislative Action Day in Sacramento. The event brought approximately 200 city officials from throughout California to the state Capitol for legislative briefings and meetings with legislators. League First Vice President and San Francisco Treasurer José Cisneros facilitated the morning and afternoon briefings that were held in the Sacramento Convention Center.

Two League-supported bills to clarify and provide certainty for the dissolution process for redevelopment agencies passed out of the Assembly Local Government Committee on Wednesday afternoon.

DeSaulnier, One Positive for Cities, One NegativeWednesday city officials attending the League’s Legislative Action Day got a powerful lesson in state politics as the Senate Governance and Finance Committee heard two bills by Sen. Mark DeSaulnier (D-Concord) – one that would help local governments and one that would harm them.
