Cities Encouraged to Send AB 1080 Support Letters to Assembly Members
Cities are closely watching AB 1080 (Alejo), which a critical first step to affording local governments with flexible authority to improve economic development in disadvantaged areas.

Law enforcement advocates are lining up in support of League-supported AB 20 (Waldron), a bill that funds programs to curb sexual assault, human trafficking and related crimes against children.
Through its Enterprise Zone, Lodi and the state of California have worked together to offer a robust package of financial incentives to businesses located in the zone when they hire employment-challenged local residents.

Cities, especially charter cities, are urged to review SB 311 (Padilla), a labor-sponsored bill that would eliminate flexibility for charter cities proposing to amend their charter and for cities seeking to become a charter city.
