City Officials Urged to Take Action on Bill that Silences Political Voice of Local Governments

Opposition letters are urgently needed on SB 594 (Hill), a bill with broad language that vastly limits limit the ability of any nonprofit organization that receives any public funding from a local government from participating in state and local ballot campaigns.

New ILG Resource on Ethics for Local Agencies Available 

It can often be difficult to keep track of the various California ethics laws and requirements for local agency officials and staff. Thankfully, the Institute for Local Government (ILG) has just released an updated e-version of the publication, Understanding the Basics of Public Service Ethics.
