End of Session League Priority and Hot Bill Status Update

Today marks the final day of the first half of 2013–14 biennial legislative session. Legislators are expected to work until the wee hours of Friday morning in order to debate and vote on the approximately 105 remaining measures. League hot topic issues pending before the legislature include medical marijuana regulation (AB 604) and local utility user tax exemptions (AB 792); while other issues such as changes to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) have been shelved for the year. After today, Gov. Jerry Brown has until Oct. 13 to determine the final fate of all bills before him.
