CSCDC Announces $9 Million New Markets Tax Credit Financing For Nonprofit Medical Center in Redding

League-Sponsored New Markets Tax Credit Program Increases Investments in Low-Income Communities

The California Statewide Communities Development Corporation (CSCDC) has provided $9 million of New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) allocation to Shasta Community Health Center (SCHC) to fund Phase III of an expansion project for SCHC’s main medical facility in Redding. The expansion will provide services to an additional 20,000 patients annually.

Register for 2014 City Managers’ Department Meeting and have one less thing to worry about this holiday season! The 2014 City Managers' Department Meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 5–7 at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. Last year’s conference sold out so be sure to register before the Jan. 14 deadline to ensure your participation.

HCD Housing-Related Parks Grant Funding Opportunities

The Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) will hold a free webinar on Dec. 11 to review local government eligibility and documentation requirements for the 2013 funding round of the Housing-Related Parks (HRP) program. The final deadline to file applications for funding is Jan. 22, 2014.

CDCR Announces Peace Officer Career Opportunities

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), Office of Peace Officer Selection recently announced its plans to hire more than 7,000 peace officers during the next three years to fill vacancies from a wave of retiring officers. Currently more than 1,800 CDCR peace officers retire annually. Local government officials in economic development and public safety are ideal candidates and are encouraged to apply.
