In a move highlighting the rapidly expanding support for the League-and-Police Chiefs sponsored bill in the Legislature, Assembly Member Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco) has signed on as principal co-author on SB 1262 (Correa). If enacted, the bill will be the first serious step toward regulation of medical marijuana since voters approved the Compassionate Use Act in 1996. The bill passed out of the Assembly Public Safety Committee on June 26 on a 6 to 1 bipartisan vote.Medical Marijuana, Legislation, Hot Bills
