Senate Bill 556, which would prohibit contracted employees from displaying a public agency’s logo without a disclaimer.
SB 556, authored by Sen. Alex Padilla, D-Los Angeles, initially failed to garner the 41 votes needed to pass off the Assembly floor on Monday afternoon -- receiving 34 “aye” votes and 21 “no” votes. About 90 minutes later, however, the measure passed, 43-24.
