League Submits Comments for the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program

 
The League participated in submitting comments on the Strategic Growth Council’s (SCG) draft guidelines for the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program. The League appreciates the work of SGC to move quickly in putting together this program and supports the investment in the communities to balance the needs of a growing population and the environment.  The AHSC Program provides an opportunity for targeted and meaningful investment.

Nov. 6 Webinar: Potential Impacts of Waters of the U.S. Rulemaking on Stormwater Infrastructure

The Water Environment Federation (WEF) is hosting a webinar on Thursday, Nov. 6 from 12-3 p.m. regarding the potential impacts that the proposed Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule could have on stormwater infrastructure and MS4s. With proposed rule comments due Nov. 14, this is a timely opportunity to get additional perspective on potential impacts in an area of particular concern to local governments.

Stockton Record Columnist Provides Insight on Stockton Bankruptcy Ruling

Hours after Federal Bankruptcy Jude Christopher Klein issued his final ruling yesterday, Stockton Record columnist Michael Fitzgerald published a thoughtful perspective. Fitzgerald in his piece examines the ruling, the bankruptcy process and the effect on all the involved parties. He acknowledges the work of former Stockton City Manager Bob Deis, who crafted the city’s plan, as well as his agreement with Judge Klein that the city’s employees are its largest creditor.
