The League has been carefully monitoring the issue of the transport crude oil and other hazardous materials and has convened a number of related meetings for members. This is part of an ongoing effort to educate League members and advocate for improved rail safety. The Department of Water Resources (DWR) has released the draft Guidelines and Proposal Solicitation Package (PSP) for the 2015 Implementation Grant Solicitation funded by Proposition 84 (The Safe Drinking Water, Water Quality and Supply, Flood Control, River and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2006).

The State Water Board, Division of Financial Assistance is hosting public workshops in April on the Proposition 1 Water Recycling Funding Program (WRFP). Prop. 1, the Water Bond, allocates $725 million in funding for recycled water and desalination projects.
