California City Solutions

Each of California’s 482 cities is unique but all share the common responsibility to provide vital local services to their residents. At their core, cities are about creating strong communities with a high quality of life where residents and the local economy thrive.

Learning from each other is an important part of the work cities do together through the League. The organization serves as a forum for best practices where city officials can find out how their colleagues in other communities tackle challenges that many cities face.

California City Solutions comprises a catalogue of applications for the League’s prestigious Helen Putnam Awards. This annual honor recognizes the outstanding efforts and innovative solutions that improve the quality of life in local communities, implement efficiencies in service delivery and operations and provide services responsive to the local community.

The programs highlighted in these applications can serve as inspiration and be replicated in other cities as they look to meet the unique challenges of their local communities. City officials are encouraged to use this searchable database to learn how their colleagues in other cities have implemented innovative solutions in the delivery of quality local services.
