Submit Your Session Proposals for the 2018 Public Works Officers Institute & Expo

July 28 is the Deadline

The League is soliciting session proposals for the 2018 Public Works Officers Institute & Expo. 
 
Geared towards city and county public works directors, assistant directors, engineers and staff, the event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Monterey, March 28 – 30. Session proposals are due by July 28. 

The Public Works Officers Institute offers participants three days of education on the latest developments in public works, leadership, managing transportation, infrastructure, water, waste programs and more. The event features a combination of general and breakout sessions, networking, and an expo.
 
Session Proposal Submission Guidelines
  • Submissions, non-commercial in nature, from any individual, group, business or organization, on any topic are welcome.
  • Sessions may not include sales, commercialism or product promotion of any kind.
  • The planning committee will consider the educational value of each proposal and the extent to which it presents new and/or significant information when selecting proposals that will move forward into the program.
Examples of 2017 Sessions
 
In March 2017, the range of topics included the Highway Safety Improvement Program, Diverging Diamond interchange, funding for stormwater, and implementing updated lighting systems.

Submission Process
 
Only proposals submitted online through the online proposal form will be considered.
 
There are a limit to the amount of words allowed within the title and description of each proposal. Please draft the proposal in a word-processing program first and then paste the final version into the online form.
