Currently a committee of League members choose conference programing during an in-person meeting or by webinar. By expanding the planning process to include an online survey instead of a one-day meeting, the League is working to have better representation the diverse interests of California cities at its Annual Conference and Expo in the fall. In addition, the League will share comments from the survey with session moderators so that they can tailor the panel to what would be most helpful to attendees.
Planning survey volunteers will receive an emailed packet of session descriptions with a link to the survey in late January, and will have one week to complete the survey. The survey is expected to take between three to five hours to complete, depending on how many changes are proposed to the submitted session.
