These changes require swift action by public employers to comply with the ruling and to complete the meet and confer process regarding effects and impacts.
The City Attorneys’ Department is holding a webinar that will explain the Janus
decision, SB 866, and the key steps public employers in California need to take to be in compliance on Thursday, Aug. 2 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. The webinar will also navigate some anticipated issues that unions or bargaining groups may raise and provide strategies for city attorneys on how to address those issues, as well as offer insight on how to communicate within the organization on these issues.
The League of California Cities® is a State Bar of California minimum continuing legal education (MCLE) approved provider. The League certified that this webinar meets the standards for participatory MCLE credit for registered attendees in the amount of 1.5 hours.
