$75 Million in Funding Available for Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention

The Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention Program (VHPP) has announced a notice for funding available to qualifying developers and nonprofit entities to construct, acquire, rehabilitate, or preserve affordable multifamily housing for veterans and their families. 
 
The funding this round totals $75 million and comes from the Veterans’ Housing and Homelessness Prevention Bond Act of 2014.
 
Guidelines for Round 4 of funding are available from the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). Applications are due to HCD by June 9 via a mail carrier.
 
Application Workshops Scheduled in May
 
VHHP staff will be conducting application workshops and a webinar on the VHHP application process and what differs from previous rounds. The application form is online.  
 
Workshops will be held:
  • San Diego, May 15
  • Santa Ana, May 16
  • Webinar, May 18
  • Oakland, May 23
  • Sacramento, May 24
