HCD Advises Using Revised CDBG Funding Applications to Apply for Grants for Small Cities and Counties

Applications Should Use the Newest Forms, due Feb. 5, 2019

December 3, 2018
The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) announced revised application forms for its almost $30 million in federal Community Development Block Grants.

HCD revised all CDBG NOFA application forms, instructions and workbooks to eliminate redundancies and be more user-friendly. This Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) applies to non-entitlement cities with a population of less than 50,000.

HCD’s announcement is online and contains information on how to apply and other details.

Grant applications are due to HCD by 5 p.m. on Feb. 5, 2019.

In addition, HCD is holding workshops to review application requirements. The workshops are set for the following dates:
  • El Centro, Dec. 4 and 5
  • Sacramento, Dec. 13
  • Hanford, Dec. 19
Visit HCD’s website to register for one of these workshops. You can also sign up online to receive announcements.

HCD has information on NOFAs on its website. Please direct questions about the CDBG NOFA to cdbgnofa@hcd.ca.gov.
