National League of Cities Announces Resource Website on Federal Shutdown

It’s day two of the federal shutdown following an impasse over FY 2014 budget negotiations. Approximately 800,000 federal employees have been furloughed until further notice. Nationwide, parks and museums are currently closed in addition to various federal service agencies. The National League of Cities (NLC) is concerned about the indirect long-term effects an ongoing impasse will have on local economies, tourism, jobs and vital services. NLC held a conference call today informing members it will urge Congress to pass a ‘clean’ continuing resolution (CR) focused on funding the federal government through FY 2014.
