Massage Therapy Bill Moves to Senate Appropriations Committee

City Officials, the League, City Lobbyists and Others Testify in Strong Support

 The Senate Business, Professions and Economic Development Committee yesterday morning heard AB 1147 (Bonilla), the California Massage Therapy Act and passed it on an 8-0 vote. The bill now moves to the Senate Appropriations Committee, which will likely hear it in August following the Legislature’s summer recess.

New FY 2014-15 HUTA Estimates Now Available

The FY 2014-15 State Budget includes some supplemental funding for local streets and roads from Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax revenues.  The budget includes a $100 million loan repayment and a $142 million adjustment for an allocation error by the State Controller’s office over the last several years. These “supplemental allocations” are to be allocated under the Streets and Highways code Section 2104-2107 formulas.
