The League of California Cities invites city officials to attend a webinar presentation by the Department of Finance (DOF) on Monday, Jan. 12 from 2-3:15 p.m. regarding a proposal affecting the redevelopment dissolution process that will be included in Gov. Jerry Brown’s FY 2015-16 budget proposal.

The California Department of Housing and Community Development has space in two webinars this week on how to apply for the available $35 million Housing-Related Parks Program grants. The webinars will be Wednesday, Jan. 7 from 1:30-4 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 8 from 9-11 a.m. Grant applications are due Feb. 5.

Registration is open for the 2015 Municipal Law Institute Symposium that will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015. The one-day symposium is presented by the Municipal Law Institute of the League of California Cities® and the Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law.

Even though the holidays are over, we’re keeping the holiday cheer alive with the anticipation of the 2015 Planning Commissioners Academy. This year’s academy will be held from Wednesday, March 4 to Friday, March 6 at the Fairmont Newport Beach. The conference covers everything from Trimming the Fat: Streamlining Government Policies and Operations to Sex, Lies and Social Media: A Survival Guide for Public Officials.

The holidays have come and gone and now it’s time to start looking forward to registering for the 2015 Public Works Officers Institute (PWOI). This year’s PWOI will be held from Wednesday, March 25 to Friday, March 27 at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach.
